I also got a package of Hatching Eggs today. I am hatching Partridge Penedesencas for Cooper12. Jason had them shipped to me in Woodland. For eggs, the local hop I have is pretty good. These eggs went straight to the Sac Airport and then to West Sac. From there they went to Woodland.

The eggs actually have aircells! and I did not see any floaters in the eggs.

I can't wait until they hatch! Ok, I will have to wait 21 days....

Whoa!! Awesome! Yay for chickies!

The eggs should look like the dark ones when they start laying. Pullet eggs will be dark like that but they get lighter through the laying cycle. Then the hen will molt and when she starts laying again the eggs will be dark. My big girls and the two that hatched in December are molting now. When my blue marans starts up again, she will be back to dark orangeish eggs.

Depending on the rooster, the eggs laid by the hens in the light eggs could be dark. The darker colored eggs could have light egg layers.

we will have to wait and see.

Partridge Penes are rare and Ultra Heat Hardy. Perfect for where you live.

I have a 2 year old Partridge Penedesenca in Molt that I will post pic's of her eggs once she starts laying again. I am going to show her picture's of these eggs and tell her one of those are your future Rooster

Yes! The EO Marraduna Basque eggs have a very nice bloom coating on them which is probably why they have such a high hatch rate. When I gathered eggs today, the Basque egg was a bit sticky from the bloom coating.

It is great that these eggs came that way. Very exciting stuff.

Thanks for the information on raising meal worms! It is amazing how many bugs they can eat at a time. They can eat a large number of grasshoppers too. Normal grasshoppers are ok, but a researcher had problems with them eating the big locust type. Impacted Crops :ep

My Jeffers order was delivered today. I can't wait to see if the Big Old Bird(It is called BOB and is a liquid supplement) helps them or not. It is supposed to help with eggs and growth for meat.

I will see....

My Jeffers order came today too... :) I forgot how much stuff I ordered, Yikes! I purchased BOB also, I think I ordered one of everything... OUT OF CONTROL!
It felt like Christmas.
I also made it up to the New Tractor Supply Store in Auburn...LOVE IT! Thank God my husband went with me... He has a TRUCK ;) LOL

I went yesterday.  I think I spent a couple of hours in there.  You know you are lolly gagging when the people keep coming by saying "can I help you?"   The home decor is great, I checked out all the feed prices, nice selection of wormers, vitamins, etc.  Cute hoodies that look super warm.  I even bought some Christmas presents.

If you print the $3 off coupon from Purina's site, they have the Layers pellets with the Omega 3.  I bought 1 bag just to try it. (though it's a 40 lb bag, not 50)

I would have Loved to stay longer ... I had my husband with me. He is aways in a hurry, so I grabbed a cart and started running around like a crazy lady;) I was still able to fill a cart plus some...:P
Thank for the heads up on the coupon. I will have to print one and GO BACK! :)
