darn Amy Beth I just gave 2 away .....
Deann does,
Day late and a dollar short. Story of my life! rofl! Darn!

Hi, I actually don't have any OE pullets available and am not planning on setting more eggs this year. I have hatching eggs available.
If any of my Orps go broody - maybe I can hit you up and see if you have any available at that time? I don't have an incubator except for the kinds with big fluffy butts and cluck. haha! I def want some OE to add to my 'egg laying flock'. My Orps are the ones I will breed and try to breed for SOP (fancy me- I used it in a sentence haha) and rely on them as mamas but not for eggs.

well, now someone else from the Cream Legbar thread has sent me a private message, he actually thinks she IS a pure CL and not a cross -- I of course know absolutely nothing about penedesencas, nor about any of the genetics behind the various traits (he noticed that Amelia has yellow shanks, which apparently penedesencas don't have) -- so i'm just going to keep an eye on her and see whether she ends up laying blue or olive eggs!

and Deann, if you see this -- if she turns out to be a CL after all, I certainly would want to pay for the extra one today, it's been such an odd mix-up!
they look super close.

I would be happy to give you some eggs. I would love to see other people working on this project. Oh.. did I say.. they are auto sexing : ) So far the girls are still laying well.

No need, but thanks. She is undoubtedly a Penedesenca X. Note, how her tail curls up towards the head - this is a true Pene tail.

yes, having seen Jason's photos, i now see the resemblance! well, time will tell -- and i adore her regardless, she's such an elegant bird!

When do you move? The Roosters were very nice. I sold them for next to nothing at the Small Animal Exchange in Sept. They probably went to the Auction in Roseville.

Back to work!

We won't be going anywhere for several months. I'm hoping we can start making offers in February or March. So-for now, the 2 (silkie) roosters come in the garage @ night until about 9:30am.

We almost rented a nice place with 11 acres in Pilot Hill but that didn't work out.

My plan was to get either hatching eggs or chicks so they would have several months to grow up by spring. I thought the Buff Orpington rooster(s) would be old enough to protect the flock by then. Oh well, I can do more research between now and whenever we do move.

My first thought when I saw Amelia was that another Rooster snuck in for a visit. Then I read on that Dean gave you a replacement hen. I have hatch many Cream Legbars and none that dark... Although, I get pure white Cream Legbars from time to time.....we are all still learning what we may get :). Molly

Does anyone (or do you know anyone) in my general area sell any Olive Eggers? (I live in Redding - Bay Area is not a short drive for me lol)
I have a 6 month old cockerel with a pea comb and puffy cheeks and beard and all the girls from the same hens as he came from have all been green egg layers. One lays a very dark, olive green. That's why I got the Marans, so that I could work on the green eggs. I didn't get a roo in the Marans, maybe you can take my boy and I'll take yours! My husband is working in Redding. Pam

Hey there Amy beth, I do have a few olive eggers that I plan to put in a coop once they lay. I will also have some amazing moss green layers that I got from the swap at cheryl's. I don't expect to have any until spring though. :-)
