Quote: A serama can cover that many eggs? Yikes! I require a picture of that!
Quote: Blue barnevelders.

1 hatched, 2 more pipped and another one zipping. First one out looks blue? It's darker than a splash, but not black - it's a light chipmunk color, so I'm thinking blue?

I can't wait to see a picture!

I am beyond upset. I must not have latched my coop door good enough last night. When I went out this morning to let my Chickens out.

One of the coop doors had blown open. My Brown orp Hen is missing.

I have searched all over. I can't find her.... She is so sweet. I am sick to my stomack. I have two brown orp Rooster and No Brown Hen...CRAP! I can still use my black orp Hen to get 50% brown. But, REALLY! I only have one pure black orp hen. Not a great way to start my day...

Oh, no! Maybe she is just hiding somewhere? I've had one not go into the coop at night and I didn't realize it until I found her the next morning way on the side yard with her head in a corner. I've also had one spend the night on the very top of our A-frame run.

Oh GOD I hope so. I have looked all over....

I've had hens not get into the coop at night too and they got frightened by something in the night and hid for a couple days. Look under everything, in small spaces and you may find her.

I do a clicking sound and my chickens all come running no mater where they are in the yard cuz it means TREATS. Do yours respond to anything like that? Maybe bring down a whole bunch of the most delicious treats and then she will hear the sounds from all your others enjoying the treat and will come running in

Quote: I have a pvc feeder in the big coop and rabbit feeders in two of the chicken hutches. The hutch/pen with the Basque hens(

hoping to secure a rooster place some day so am keeping them separate) has a tarp over the run with a hanging feeder that keeps it dry. That is my best setup so far for automatic stuff.

When the hawk tried to take one of my Golden Comets last year, she was hiding under the shed. I hope you find your Orp soon!

AGREED! and I've got about 20 Tolbunt Polish that are DUMMER THAN STUMPS!! I have to go out with a flashlight and put most of them in the coop. They huddle together in a big pile on the ground....

I had the same problem with juvies so I turn on a battery powered light on in the juvie coop just before dusk and the light draws them in. I turn off the light when I close the doors. After a week of so of them going in on their own you don't need to use the light anymore.
