I hope he survives Jake! That would be such a bummer to lose him. I'm sure you're giving him lots of TLC.

BTW- Hedwig is broody !!! She hasn't left the nest in over a day, and growls at you when you get near. My daughter said there is one egg under her. I might make her get up and eat in a bit. Silly girl. She must have seen all my little babies in the brooder, and it made her little biological clock start ticking!!

.......sunny, with Beeps I pried her off that egg every afternoon for R&R and fed her breakfast in bed [I put the dish right under her nose] and it worked very well.

Okay, here's my chicks, and you can see the differences in their colors...

The 7 "chipmunks" are OEGB, then I have two yellow/grey Seramas, and one dark brown one?? Do you see 'em all in there? I was cleaning the brooder this morning, and needed to contain them for a few minutes.

They are already getting some wing feathers! The yellow grey chicks look like possibly white mottled, like dad, not sure what the dark brown one will be? But he's the smallest by far, but was the last to hatch on Sunday, the other two Serama hatched early Saturday morning.

All three need regular checks for pasty butt. I have my box of Q tips right next to the brooder. None of the OEGB chicks have had pasty, and they certainly don't seem cold, so I guess baby Seramas just need a little extra care.
