just a thought....

wire and cara has these lil metal things you clamp around it.....but makes for great little drop pens

BTW KATE i have to say thanks for the chocolate laced hen.....she is really amazingly stunning.....and chocobo love breeding her lol.....cant wait for when she starts laying i thnk she will be a ferocious mother like her mom but a good one none the less somethings strikes me that way

I'm totally up for cage making, I could actually use some myself. Tell me what to buy, and where to find it. Plan a Friday or Saturday, and I'm there!

i didn't really get to see it's colors or analyze it... ask jerry.. i'm interested to see what he will say... i couldn't figure out which allele he is...

Gumbii, I think he is a result of fawn/dun patterned silver duckwing X black patterned gold -necked/birchen = fawn/dun patterned yellow/golden -necked/birchen (ERe+ co+co+ db+db+ pg+pg+ ml+ml+ Cha+Cha+ mh+mh+ di+di+ Ig+Ig+ cb+cb+ Idi+ bl+bl+ Lav+Lav+ C+C+ Mo+Mo+ b+b+ Ss+ Choc+Choc+) or something like porcelain minus the mottling. If you look closely, you will see the red being diluted and he has crowing. My theory is base on what I have seen from Jerry's flock. What do you think???

put up a picture... and i still haven't taken the pictures of jose's khaki OEGB roo's that he hatched out... dennis saw them yesterday... they look white... but you can tell that they are fawn silver duckwings dilute to an egg shell color... gorgeous...

i think i saw jerry's cockerel... that's what i thought it was... i thought it was going to be a red wheaton based khaki... since the body was lighter than the rest of him... but still, i would need to see the picture...

btw... porcelain is partridge, columbian, mottled self blue... so if it wasn't mottled, it would be an isabel... as a matter of fact, i had an isabel birchen named thor... let me find a pic of him... he was a very low quality OEGB but he was one of my first roo's... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v317/gumbii/chickens/?action=view&current=Photo0006_1.jpg

I'm so sorry. I had one loss last Sept, a big Buff Orp pullet, and a close call during a 90+ Feb heat wave this year, an OEGB hen. I've been really nervous all summer. I have fans and misters in place, but my birds HATE the misters. The fans they don't seem to mind. However, hearing that makes me want to bring my whole flock inside for the A/C. I wonder if one of my kids will give up their room for the chickens??

Do any of you remember the shots of ZooMummzy's chicken room?? Now, that would be ideal!!

This is the Honey Mustard color I was talking about. I will do my best to decipher your "codes" LOL. Question is, so how do I get it?

Other than just ordering one from Jerry...

That would be too easy!

without knowing lineage or test breeding... i'd say it's a golden fawn birchen/crowing with lemon/cream/blonde gene...

as a break down... if you have a fawn birchen hen, or maybe a fawn duckwing hen with a lemon/cream/blonde birchen roo... if the serama genetics weren't all willy wonka random... you would get out of all of the roosters hatched, 50% of them would look like that mustard dijon or whatever color is called rooster...
