I know, at 4 1/2 weeks, they can still surprise you.

Again, this is my first hatch, and there is definitely a learning curve to breeding good birds, and no, I'm not starting with "the best", I'm starting with what I have. If these babies don't mature to at least above average, then I'll probably not hatch anymore from that pair, and just wait until I have the space to get something different. I'm not a hatchery here, I'm just having a little fun, and enjoying my birdies.

i would say pullet but hard to say from a pic ? and i would breed a couple times to see what you get then if nothing good comes of it give them as pets to friends and hit joey up for a pair of his birds . that what i would do if i was you .

He's depressed and molting.... If he'll cooperate for a pic, I'll take one, but you'll have to ignore his tail. I'll try to bring him to the Sept meet up. He's not as awesome as Whitii, but he's filling out a bit. I weighed him, 15.1 oz this week. He has a nice tall pose, but still lacking in the sickle department. He will be 7 months old this month.

Any thoughts on what #3's color will be???? Hedwig looks like what has been described as a silver ginger, and of course Gordon is black and white mottled. The brown totally throws me?? But I haven't read my Serama Colours book yet.

I had 5 hatched and a broody hen sitting on 8 eggs from my cocopop project, the chicks from this project came out a bit smaller in size then from my other hatchlings. I will definately have a few good ones to show in November & February. Glad to hear everything is good with you. Let me know when you plan on hosting a show in your area, you will have my full support!!!!!
