I have an unusual request...I need a CHICKEN SITTER for a week the end of this month..Anyone near the Hacienda Heights area that could come by and pay once a day visits to my birdies?

PM me if you can...Thanks Dates would be: 10/24 to 10/29 :D

What I've done in the past when I leave for the weekend or a few days, I make sure they have more than enough food and water. Even if its way too much food and water. I put their food above grond so that mice cant get to it. But you're gonna need something were only their heads fit or else they are gonna dig and dig untill all of the food is all over the place. Same with the water. i have like 2 or 3 water buckets and i put their water buckets screwed into the coop or a solid piece of wood or i put bricks around their water so that they cant tilt the water bucket and spill the water. They'll be fine for just the weeken as long as they have shelter from rain, predators, and sun and plenty of food and water.

You are right, that for a few days they would be fine, but this will be 8 days and my chickens are shamelessly spoiled beyond comprehension. :cd

I have found that buttering up some unsuspecting neighbors with some delicious eggs is a good way to make sure there is always someone who will watch your chickens...hehehe.

Hi everyone!

I'm from Riverside, but I moved to Goleta for school (UCSB). My sister has some silkies and I have 3 ducks. I saw some posts awhile back about chicken sitting and I would be glad to anytime if anyone is in the area!

Is there going to be another Chicken Meet up soon? Or did I already mis it?

Well, this is whats going on.....I have been so busy with going to chicken shows, other meet-ups and rehoming chickens / fixing my house and a trip to Chicago coming up, I have never been able to commit a weekend to it....:hit

If you guys can wait till the first weekend in November, we could have one then. Can I possibly have some feedback that that date would be OK, Nov. 3rd for you peeps and I will get the word out ASAP!
Thanks...:)
