Too much DE can get in their eyes, and as it is abrasive can cause eye problems. Little chicks seem to be most vulnerable.

Hhhmmmm? I sprinkle it on top of my new litter then kinda give it a little toss....

Do you water down the run at all? I try to spray it down weekly to keep the dust down and to kick up the humidity a little.

Also the humidity has been SO LOW and that can cause sneezing, itchy eyes etc....couple of days ago it was only 18%..WHOA thats low.

I am giving them as gift so I want them to be unusual, not the same colors that anyone can get at the market. There's a lady in Norco who sells a mixed dozen and she's on 8th street, just west of California St. I was just there recently and they're still in operation. Very nice people... And clean.

Grace, I can't remember her business name but it's a residence. Take the 91 to the 15 North and get off at 6th street. turn right and go through town until you hit California St. Turn left and go down to 8th st... Turn left on 8th st and it's the second house on the left.
