I have had some birds from him before never any issues . Should be noted within the last year ish I've noticed mites to be a bit of a bigger issue . I've noticed a few other poultry keepers I'm friends with in the area also noticed the same thing and I've never really have to make an effort to treat mites before but now I always have treatment spray on hand . I keep an eye on my birds and they get checked /sprayed on a reg basis these because mites are def worse lately . So anyway long story short I wouldn't blame him for that but I'd ask him if he's aware , def bring it up so he knows , maybe he missed treating a bird or isn't aware . As for respiratory issues we are having cold , wet weather stretch so it's wise for anyone to keep an eye on their birds right now so best thing here would be to let him know if there is an issue in that regard to in case something spreads he'd want to know . I doubt he'd purposely send any birds out with issues .
Was the chick sneezing , wheezing ? difficulty breathing ?
