Hi! I am just down the 58 from you in North Edwards. I breed Ameraucanas and Polish which do well in the heat out here. I also have a mixed laying flock with barred rocks, delawares, RIR, Jersey Giants, Cochins, and even some silkies. As long as you give them enough shade and fresh water they do just fine. Make sure you have ALOT of ventalation in your coop. I lost a few girls last summer to they heat while they were in thier nest box laying due to lack of ventalation. (We since built all new coops). I also like to spray the run down on hot days, they love to rool around in the cool wet dirt and cool themselves down. A mister system would be nice out here in the summer too.

froggiesheins: Thanks for the invite. I hope you had a good turn out. Every time I go to California there's to many family memebers to see and not enough time. I wish I could have stopped by to check it out. I did find someone in the high desert that had eggs. Thanks again.

Dom

AWW Dom, ya missed a good time, we were sitting under a tree watching a bunch of serama babies playing in the dirt and shooting the breeze, you couldn't ask for a better day! Maybe we will see you next time. I am glad you found your eggs, hope it was a BYCer!

Hi everyone, it's a nice day out today!! Unfortunately I have to downsize a little right now, we are most likely going to have to move and I don't want to burden our family friend with too many birds to house in the meantime. Anyone who would like a couple of Easter Eggers and one white Leghorn (all about 11 weeks old) should contact me via PM please.
