Hi, yall. One of my new bsl hens has a very watery eye. I'm keeping a close watch on her for now. What do I need to look for and/or do? Thanks.

Really should post on Emergencies/illness BUT............. could be anything from an irritation to a respritory infection. For right now isolate, and keep a watch for ANY changes..... like the other eye starting to water, or the lid staying closed all the time, or the nose starts to run.
She could have gotten pecked in the eye too...
IF you have medicated eyedrops [even if they are for humans/ dogd/ cats] you can put that in the eye.... hope that helps. :)

Thank you, I know but I try to stick with those who are close. I only trust those in So. Cal. unless they are politicians. LOL

isolate it if you can.

it could be anything from a cold to fowl pox to a nasty bug.

if you are coming tomorrow and are not totally "organic" i will get you some chicken antibiotics - I just got a delivery today of dimethox. and tetrox. They will take care of almost any bacteria.
I will be there tomorrow, I will be the one with chicken poop on my shoes...

She hasn't laid any eggs that I know of, but the dark pink egg 3rd from the right came from someone, she is the only candidate old enough, and the others are spoken for.

I believe her legs are green/grey.
@hosspak, I have 4 easter eggers that look just like your chicken, with pea comb and green/gray legs. Easter eggers, depending on its parentage, can lay various shades of green, white, pink, olive, even brown eggs. I am 100% sure your chicken is an easter egger.

That's what I'm hoping for.... I hope to find a blue egger today at the meet up. And maybe a blue marans or blue Ameraucana.

Have you ever made an entire room full of people, Roll their eyes?

Just got home from the meet up. I did bring home a blue egger EE (Slash Lavender and something???),and a Silver laced Wyandotte? I always forget to write this stuff down. I know those who were there will help remind me what are. I also rescued a Brahma hen, and a rescued Buff Orpington hen... I really do need to learn to say no...
