California-Southern

Oh yeah... We babysat our 5 Grandkids....Played Pictionary with small kids....Our Daughter was working, and no one knows what the father was doing or where he was....I was not happy... I was hoping to go window shop at Chickens Galore yesterday....didn't happen....Hope you had fun...
Window shop? Is that even possible? My night was boring.....baby daddy trouble? Lol *******!

Nope. Window shopping is just not possible at chickens Galore. I went there to just take a look at what Russell had and came home with 4 chicks. Here are some picture of our girls from CG now between 5 and 6 months old. All maturing out very beautifully, but no eggs yet from these 4. Guessing they have to grow up a touch more. :)

The first and last pictures are both BRLWs just different hues of red one darker and the other lighter so I could tell them apart. The second picture is of a LF Cochin, I am trying to figure out what to call her coloring buff laced is the best I can come up with. The second to last picture is of a Blue Copper Marans.

I am wondering the same thing! I am from Southern California, but lived back east for a few years and that is where all of my chicken business took place. I moved back to California two years ago today actually. I used to breed Delawares and Black Rosecomb bantams, but got rid of all my chickens because of the move. I am now dipping my feet back in the BYC pool....for now, I just wanna see whats out there........

Well I will tell you I am in the San Bernardino Mountains and I have 14 pullets of several different breeds from Breeders all over Southern Ca. Most breeds do well here. It all depends on what you like. I posted pictures above of 4 of our girls that I got from Chickens Galore in Norco. They have lots to choose from I have also bought several chicks from Phage. Here are pictures of our Keepers from the batch of chicks from Phage. 1 Crested Cream Legbar, 1 black Ameruacana, and 1 Olive Egger. These girls are all between 5 and 6 months old not fully mature yet, but very beautiful girls.

Here is a picture of our Coop and Run a few weeks ago. Of course the run is tarped right now for the winter, but it is a welded wire dog run with galvanized roof. Living in the mountains we have our fair share of large predators so we invested in a very substantial coop. Our girls do free range when we are home to supervise.

If you want feed store chickens there's W W Feed, it's on highway 74 just as you get in to Hemet. It's the best place for feed also. They also know of breeders in the area if you want something special.

I'm always going there! Really great prices on their birds. I got my geese, Turkey's, rhode islands, EEs, and ducks from there! I'm searching to get a higher quantity of babies for this year! (:

Hey, didn't you get one of these at the Norco meet-up? The same as the one I got.... is your's laying yet? Mine started laying 2 weeks ago. although not consistently. That Buff I got from you was acting not very healthy the other day for about 24 hrs. I thought she wasn't gonna make it... then laid her first for us, she has laid 4 or 5 eggs over the last week or so but still acts very different, stays by herself on the perch. In between eggs she acts sick. She's not picked on and she had actually moved up in the pecking order but stills acts funny.
