Backyard Chicken Meet-Up

Backyard Chicken Keeper’s Unite!
Saturday, May 31, 2014
Doors open at 10am

*Do you have chicks to sell or swap? Bring them!*
* How about some fun wares you make for sale? Bring them!*
New to chicken keeping and don’t know where to start?
Come on out, there will be plenty of people who know a thing or two, ideas for coop design, insight on getting started, what you need and what you don’t. Take this opportunity to learn from others experience. We’ll have take home pamphlets to help you get started too.

We will put out sandwiches and fruit. Iced tea and ice water will also be available. Feel free to “potluck it” and add something to the table.
Be sure to bring any tables and chick wrangling pens you may need. Planning to buy chicks, be sure you bring a box, crate or enclosed carrier to safely transport them home
This Meet-Up is being hosted by Carrie and Jennifer
At Jennifer’s home in Pomona, Ca
Please privately message Jennifer at www.facebook.com/clucknhoe for the address.
Join us for a day of all things poultry.

Is there any way to make a list of some sorts of who will be going and selling stuff?
I will have some roosters I'm trying to sell. Splash marans, black copper marans and a blue laced red wyandotte. The rest are not sexed yet (your guess is as good as mine) blue laced red wyandotte, leghorn, black/chocolate split orpington, chocolate wyandottes, jubilee orpington and a sizzle! Of course you can't forget about the Easter chicks! Super blue egg layers, olive eggers, black/isabel split marans! What else did I forget critter crue?

I'd love to find a So Calif Breda breeder. I found someone who breeds in No CA but I'm trying not to give the USPS so much money to mishandle a delivery. It's hit-and-miss with who has brains at the Post Office so I'd like to find someone local who wouldn't mind selling a couple juvie pullets for pickup.

The Breda are still too rare to be on hatchery lists for Wes's Pet and Feed to order. I remember just 3 years ago you couldn't get anything better than a Cuckoo Marans with smooth legs from a hatchery and now they're all carrying different varieties of Marans and with feathered legs!

The Pomona meetup sounds like fun but DH goes on conventions every major holiday and I get to stay home and chicken sit LOL.

I'll be in Novato for a chicken seminar later this month. I might be able to bring you some hatching eggs or ? if it is really easy to connect with your breeder...and then later with you.

Jubilee Orp, Wheaten Ameraucana.

I like what tacopaco is saying and am hoping to get enough feed back from folks who plan to attend that I can indeed have a list of what all will be available for sale that day.

So if anyone is interested/planning to attend AND bring chicks or wares for sale please PM me with the specifics so I can put a list together and hopefully bring in some excited buyers. I have a handful of "new to chicken keeping" coming so this will be a great opportunity to sell.

Calling All Chicken Peeps. Carriebain and I would like to get a "vendor" list put together for the May 31st Meet up to help draw in more potential buyers for us all.

If you are planning to attend and bring something for sale, whether it's chicks or other wares, please PM me a list of what you will be offering so I can add you on. I plan to put the Vendor list out by Monday, May 12. If you have any special offers or Meet-Up promos, be sure to include them.

We have this meet up advertised in several other locations as well to help drum up some business.

Looking forward to having a great turn out. Lots of newbies so this will be a great opportunity to sell, sell, sell.
