I believe...... 3/4+ cemani with naked neck gene. Cemani stock is from way way pre GFF imports.

that explains the helmet head/crest I couldn't figure out =)
A naked neck cemani is very pretty, especially with matching down color.
Are these from your hatch? Are you also breeding them? Interesting trail to follow re: the cemani stock...

I hatched these from purchased eggs but they are no longer mine. They do look cool :)

Thanks for sharing your search for interesting chickens!

I felt the same way...maybe a virtual tour? photos?
there is a coops forum on BYC

I find the idea of a coop tours while a bunch of fun, scary as a potential way to spread disease from one backyard to another. If you visit someone who unknown to then has carrier respiratory diseases, or Mareks in their birds you could carry it other yards and/or back home.

Is that a wheaten ameraucana in your avatar?
If it is, it looks like one I have from Phage, as a matter of fact =)

Has anyone had broody ameraucanas, if so would you say that is typical of the breed? This one has been every year, and she is crazy, I think we would call her a "helicopter parent".

I have a blue ameraucana broody, she is only 9 months old and has been broody twice and she scares the crap out of me, she is a very intense broody!

Hi. Is anyone near La Habra?

Am new to BYC and chickens. Just got some in April. We have 4 for now. I'd maybe like more in the future, but this is all we can manage for now... Silkies, polish and wyandotted are really appealing to me too! The coop isn't even finished! We have 2 EEs, an Australorp and a Barred Rock. We also have 6 large veggie beds and the chickens are loving all the kale. I need to re-sow new lettuce seeds and barricade the bed because they ate all the sprouts.

I'm in Anaheim. We have 4 girls too, they're 4 weeks old today.
