So i got a good deal on ccl (crest cream legbar) eggs. Most i know look good as i see air pockets (turns out having tortises lay eggs as a kid taught me alot about eggs) anyways there are 3 ccl eggs that are in question. I dont see air pockets. And then the guy gave me an olive egger from a ccl mixed with a copper maran im curious on that one as i see a crack/chip or dent or whatever you want to call it. Do i bother with the ones i dont see air pockets in? What about the olive egger? You can see the chip or whatever. I didnt ask how old the eggs were he was set to put 500 eggs in on monday. In my opinion n tell me if im wrong #2 and #3 are good as they have air pockets. The others arent. And do i put the chiped egg in or is it pointless?

It can be very hard to see the air cells on some CL eggs for some reason, especially if the air cells are small.

I put them all under her just in case and will later candle them or just wait to hatch. What are the chances of the chiped one hatching? This is her.

I also have a funny story. While cleaning the backyard yesterday i found a baby snake. Some might remember my previous storty so heres my new snake story

So i found this while cleaning yesterday. Freaked the f out as naturally my girls were there waiting for the tasty morsels under the plastic thing i picked up. Didnt see this guy at first. Until out of the corner of my eye i see them all tossing this around. I freaked luckily i had some work gloves on and grabed it knowing it couldnt bite threw. Found a container and droped it in. Now for the back story i previously found one of these in the gutter while barefoot taking out trash. Caught it with a stick snd container gave it to our family friend whos a boy scout leader he found some snake person to identify it and they suposidly said it was some rare posiness baby snake. Eventually my friend gave ut to the person as it wouldnt eat. So here i was grabing a POSINESS babt SNAKE so my girls wouldnt butten as you know i can alwayd get antivenom and i have accident insurance lol. So i call charles he didnt pick up call my sis and tell her. She says send me a pic. LUCKILY my cousins boyfriend is a snake breeder. He textes back release it its a full grown california worm snake lol. Not posinus. But all i could think of is heck no you wont be posinung my birds! Has anyone else reacted this way? Forgettimg your own safty to protect the flock?

Hi all,

Ok, we knew we were on borrowed time. I am in Simi. I am on 2 acres, yet I'm not zoned for farm animals. I have too many chickens. I got a letter from the state a while back telling us we had to get rid of all roosters - we did. Now we got another letter that states we have to get rid of ALL the chickens, unless I obtain a conditional overylay. They gave us until the 24th to remove them (9 days).

There is no way I am giving up my babies. We are going to look for someone outside the city limits that has some property we might be able to rent. I'll set up a couple of coops, with some fencing and take care of them remotely. I'll try for the overylay, and bring them home.

Has anyone else gotten this type of letter and have you had any luck fighting it?
