Hello I am new to BYC and I am located in Riverside. I am currently looking to start breeding Bantams but specifically looking to have sebright. I am looking for golden laced sebright hens in my area for sale. Can anyone ppimr me in the right direction? I have tried Craigslist but with no success. Thanks in advance.

I'm not recommending this but there was a BYC post who checked w/ the animal shelters in Riverside and other rural area shelters to see if they had chicken adoptions. Mostly they are roos needing homes but sometimes there are some cute bantams too. Wes's Pets and Feed store in El Monte has a good assortment of chicks, juveniles, and adult birds. Amber Waves Silkies in Norco sells Silkies, Marans, turkeys, goats, etc, and might be able to refer you to other bantam breeders in your vicinity. San Dimas Grain feed store in San Dimas sells chicks, juveniles, and adult birds but the only bantams they carry are Silkies (from Belt Hatchery in Calif). Chicks/juveniles will be more plentiful to seek in the Spring during hatching season.

Hi,
Yesterday I was at the Cherry Valley Feed store and they had a few bantam chicks as well as a bunch of others. You might call them to see if they still have them before driving to Cherry Valley but it's really not that far from Riverside. I think the bantams may have been a random selection but since I have Light Brahmas I wasn't really looking at the bantams, except they really are still at the cute stage now.
Hope that helps.

Welcome Quilter...I'm new, too, and am excited to see someone else from Yucaipa. I love Cherry Valley Feed, there's where 1/2 my flock came from.
Glad you joined.
