Well I hung around for a bit and the man who was the high bidder on the BWC Polish was the husband of the woman selling jewelry seated at the end of the area. I am thinking that the man who was high bidder on the Dave Anderson Buff Polish is a different man. He was also large with lots of facial hair, Mexicano. We were seated with his wife and heard several interesting stories. Did you bring any new birds home ?

i got an easter egger that was for sale there, and i should of bought a quail d'anver roo that was there as well, im so mad at my self for not getting him

I like the quail d'anver breed as well. Just tell yourself that there will be more around in the springtime. I decided to be happy with my purchase. Good personality is a priority in my selection and show girls are know to be calm. Both turkens and silkies that go into their breeding are calm. I wish that I had room for all the birds that I like but since all prices are on the rise less is better.

Hi, I am not too far from you. I have been to Kruse's to buy chicks too and they seem to be the closest place for chicks. The other place I know of is in the Valley. I went to the Rose Bowl to pick up feed for my chickens and I met a man there and chatted with him. He said he was going to have some EE's at the end of Nov. He is near Altadena & Fair Oaks. If it interest you, pm me and I can give you his email address.

After the New Year's hatch and when the weather warms up a bit, I may do a hatch for the BCM so if you want to share, I am cool but you may have to wait a bit.

by any chance were the turkens bantams ?

Hi I'm in so. Calif too(not far from Riverside and Temecula) and my main breed are turkens/naked necks.. If you're still looking for bantams, my friend who does the hatching for me has a bunch of day old black and lavender bantam turken chicks agt their place right now & they're in 29 Palms. Let me know if you're interested? Also some chicks out of my laced turken project, some will be bantam size too(these should come out mostly laced or pencilled).

The bantam turken parents have been excellent layers so far, started very early, tons of eggs. Good size eggs for bantams too..

As far as my experience with chickens which has been somewhat intermittent, Turkens are the best all around chicken, good layer and calm my favorite. Wait till you see my Show Girls. They are just gorgeous. Gota go make a birthday cake.
