CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

I'm sure he'll be fine, but I'm so upset looking at him. Thought they got him the other day and it was their blood and flesh stuck to him. Not the case yesterday. I need to find some more poultry netting. I'm going to try and set up a trap for them. Might catch a few of my own in the process, but this is getting rediculous! Then I took the pups out twice today and the hen that has been here for probably 2 months isn't around. Large pack of dogs out yesterday and last night, so I'm worried about her. The rooster that started showing up for her is out there though and that stupid bird went out back while I was out yesterday and I turned around as he was mounting one of my FBCM hens

. I didn't get there in time, but I chased him out of the yard and he just kept coming back. I'm going to be hatching out everything till I know I have only pure chicks and selling the chicks at auction. So frustrating that I can't let my own birds use the yard!

My big white Langshan cockerel likes my tiny Lavender Ameraucana! I wonder what that combo would look like! LOL! We checked her egg from yesterday but it wasn't fertile. The boys are going to the farm tomorrow so I guess we won't have any mixed breed chicks running around!

You need one of my roos!!!!

I love my little lavender Ameraucana pullets but I would sure not choose to breed them. I think that they need lots of work especially on the size. They are almost Bantam sized!

I don't want to just get rid of these guys so if anyone needs one, please let me know. They are nice breeds and can be used for a breeding program or for bantam EEs.

I'm going through birds right now myself. It's really hard for me to do.

We had a rooster fight as well. 2 silkie brothers . The splash guy clearly lost he is bald. He got blue boys beard so he is pink under the chin. So now I have a chicken in the house again, ugg. Luckily mario just grumbles and doesn't complain too much!

I made arrangments to get rid of the birds I mention above today. Mostly roos and the pair of Blue Coppers, so Once I start condensing, I'll have things more under control and be able to really work on all these rouge roos.I was upset when I thought they had hurt the Sussex until I thought all the blood was from him. Now I'm really determined to get rid of those darn things. They really got him and I hate that I had these 2 beautiful birds and my poor roo looks like this. And not even from my own birds. Still trying to figure out how they could have gotten through the wire enough to do what they did. makes me want to cry when I look at him.
