We just got back from Wheelers's feed out on Woodland Ave. out past Modesto. Another "chicken lovin" friend said she had just switched to King feed & got it there. It is a $1 more per bag but they are micro pellets, the same percent protein & made with white corn so the white birds don't yellow from it. She said they waste less & seem to convert it better so she thinks her feed bill is actually less with the new feed so I am giving it a try. I took their last 9 bags but they order every Tues. They don't deliver it like I have now but I can make one trip a month maybe. We'll see. I told Aaron to let the feed they are on no run out & then we will refill the feeders & see what happens.

So your the one that bought the king feed out at wheelers! I went today to buy some because I'm almost out and they didn't have any. I love the Pro Am show and grow. I love the pellet size for my bantams. When u went to Wheeler u probably drove right past my house. I love on Dakota and woodland (the last house when u are on Dakota turning on to Woodland. I started buying king feed right after I got my call ducks in October. For awhile I was the only one buying it and they would order it just for me. They said they should get some on Tuesday. I was surprised when they said it was sold! Lol

Kim I am sooooooooooooooo sorry....Was it Isis? He was scary to me there on your frontporch but that doesn't count because I am afraid of strange dogs. It seems like you could report this to someone to see that this doesn't happen again. I could not live being in fear of a dog attack. There is your dang black cloud again................ Is everything okay now?? Did AC come out to take a report & pick up the darn dog????

I live to far to run over there very often so my thought is once a month if I decide to continue with it. Yesterday was my first day to feed it & that was only to the feeders that had gone empty. The chicken lover that recommended it to me ordered it by the pallet, 40 bags. I will have to figure out what I need by the month but too busy now with the Christmas crunch. My Christmas work usually starts in July but I got sooooooooooooo carried away with chicken hatching & raising this year that I am waaaaaaaaaay behind & scurrying trying to catch up plus we got some really bad family news we are all struggling with right now & I am having a hard time concentrating but am keeping myself really busy. Let me know if you need feed.

I'm alright. Isis is pretty sore and beat up. It could have been much much worse. I've spent all day trying to find out how to file a complaint against the dispatcher though. I do feel like someone beat me up. Man I hate being out of shape and old.

Glad you are okay Kim. I hope you persue that complaint. I know how easy it is to let things slide & wish you didn't. It needs to be reported.
I sooooooooooooo know what you mean about old & out of shape. Aaron is gone for awhile & I am doing my chicken chores alone & struggling with the 50lb sacks while I try out King feed. I have never been a drinker but maybe I should consider it to help the cold & sore joints.......LOL. In fact I put alittle of Costco's spiked eggnog in my coffee this morning instead of creamer. Maybe that will warm me up til the fire gets going good......LOL

I'm definately going to continue to file this complaint. That could have been a kid calling for help and getting killed because no help was coming.

It was Isis. She has a good bark, but she thinks she's a lap dog and just a little too friendly at times, so not knowing her strength she can wiggle till she wacks into you. She looks scary at times, but she's such a sweet dog. Poor thing, she didn't even know how to fight this dog off. I thought I'd have to pull her off, but she did exacyly what I told her to do and as soon as the dog was off of her I sent her in the house. It's just that the dog got passed me and latched onto her leg and got drug inside. That's when I really got worried. I couldn't get the dog outside. I was screaming at the dispatcher to send help to get the dog out of my house. I got nothing. I need to go to make a report I think. AC didn't write anything down, but she did come out and look for the dog and talk to me.

I found out who it was that teased Makyla. I'm really surprised by it being her friend's dad! Then the little, soon to be in juvenil hall brat that goes next door and I've had to get on for shooting pellet guns around the kids. I know he's going out back to try and shoot the chickens, but what his dad doesn't realize now is I'm not going to say anything next time. I'm calling the cops.

Coopa I wish we were heading to Colorado! Have you tried the other Cal threads? The Nor Cal and Bay Area threads might be of some help. Kim has them all linked on the opening post of this thread.

I'm so sorry about your family news.

I am so happy that others are buying King feed because I really want them to keep selling it. I like it! They said they are getting more in hopefully Tuesday so I think I will be OK. I am mixing my crumble and the King to help it last longer! lol I might call you and buy a bag off you if I run out.

OK I need to start looking for extremely cheap property. I mean dirt cheap.

Since Bill is buried in Dixon, I've trying checking nearby areas, but ouch. I have no idea where anything is, so trying to look up cities and towns in the area within maybe 30 minute drive, has me lost. Thing is I don't want to live anyplace cold and not too hot. Yeah I know. I think we were actually going to move to Arizona, but now I don't want to move away without him. I have no one anywhere but here. I miss the Bay so much out here. I was the one that wanted to move this direction, because the house we had built was so nice for the money and then when that fell through, everything else just kept following. Nothing went right, but here I am. I doubt I'd even be able to move back to what I feel like is home again, so I need to find some place a broke person can live without having to be in an area like I'm in now.

So if anyone has some ideas or knows the state better than I do, please offer some ideas. It's ashame. You live here for 50 years and the only area you really know, you move away from. I've found cities out here that I always thought were Southern Cal. Then I see places in Southern Cal that I always thought were Northern. Yep, I'm pretty bad,
