CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

Already so hard to find something extremely cheap when I can keep all of my animals. Everything is set really cold or just to hot. I hate to be any futher from the Bay Area than I am now. I wish I had never pushed for us to move out this way. Maybe my whole life would be different. So mad at myself.

I'll have to find out what I can do and then just keep looking. March marks the 2 yr mark since we moved into this house.

I've mostly found houses in this area that are all I can afford. Not even as good as this area. I'll have to find out where all the new boundries are going to be made.

I swear, if it isn't one thing it's another.

Oh no!! I hope that you don't have to give up your birds. Please keep us posted on that. Around what parts are you thinking of moving to? Life seems to have a habit of a snowball effect. :(

Prayers and good thoughts for SunnyDawn and her family...

Need a Little Help From Someone in the Sacramento California Area - PLEASE

OldGal (my DW) just informed me that my sister-in-law, who lives in Sacramento wants us to ship her one dozen of our delicious, nutritious farm fresh eggs for which she is willing to pay all costs. (Yeah, the woman is just a bit wacky.) When I explained that the costs involved would make the eggs possibly the most expensive eggs for human consumption in the history of the world OldGal responded, "But she's willing pay!" Anyway, to make a long story short we agreed that I'd get on BYC and find a member who was willing to sell her eggs.

WARNING! She's a lonely handicapped 58 year old woman who doesn't drive so you'd have to be willing to deliver, and probably have your ear talked off. On the plus side she is very friendly and outgoing. If you can help us out please PM me and we can work out the details.

I'm going to probably give up at least one or two roosters. Everyone knows how much I love my roos, but if I can rehome them and not have them sent to freezer camp, I may have to do it. A lot of my birds are running together since no one was laying, but I came home to another OE egg and another FBCM egg. Time to get them all separated again and only do the pure breds. Always a fun time, but kind of sad too. Although no eggs gets old sometimes, it's cool to watch all the different breeds running around together. Oh well, time to get some breeding done and hatch out some chicks.

I might have to do an auction for mixed and possible(probable) purebred eggs for the next month or so. That or I'll end up hatching them out myself and either selling them or taking them to the auction. Lights go out on wednesday with the ones already separated by breed, so hopefully I'll have some good auctions with those too. Next year, I'll have birds to sell at the show I hope and since I have a lot of what I have wanted now, I'm going to start having some fun with my birds again.

If you haven't already found someone, please send ME a private message - if I cannot do it myself, I will find someone in this area who can. Sacramento IS a large area, but maybe I can arrange a sort of relay system if it's not where I can get (I work long hours and wouldn't want to detour too much from my route).

I got some beautiful Delaware feather earrings, made by Karen, yesterday. Thank you so much! They caught the attention of many strangers at the show, who commented on them. It was so nice to meet you and PetRock and Lotsapaints!

I was hoping to meet Kim, sorry I missed you. And Dawn, also. I hope and pray for you and your family in this time of sadness.

Saw Jeremy in the sale barn. Did his Sumatras sell? I have photos of the black one that was entered in the show. That's my favorite breed that I'll never have. I just get my fix of them at the shows.

Does anyone know whose Delaware was entered in the show and who had the roo in the sale barn?

I thought that I was finally going to see some Dorkings in a show, and was very disappointed to see empty cages marked scratched.

On the way home, I was thinking how much fun that was and wishing there were more shows within driving distance. Someday I'd like to see the Nationals back east, where they have even more birds entered.

Kim

I'm glad everyone had so much fun, i'm extremely jealous. So I did it again, I managed to hatch out a single chick, anyone have some young chicks they are willing to part with? I'm looking for something near fresno.
