CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

No more breaks. The plaster on the splint had been to tight and was pushing on a nerve. I have a new one now with less plaster. Still have to see the ortho surgeon on the 16th for a real cast. Hurts bad since the nerve is getting more circulation, but hopefully that will be better soon. I found out I have a LOT of bruising. I couldn't tell while I was holding it still all those hours and didn't see it till today. Looks like I got beat with a bat.

The upside is this is a week since I did it, so 1 down and ??? to go, but I lived through it so far. LOL

Yes, I take them at night because they make me so tired I can't take them during the day. The doctor called me and said I have Degenerative Disk Disease, arthritis and scolosis. He said I should be feeling better by Friday when I'm done taking my prednisone. Still planning on the Fresno show this weekend.
Sarah, have you tried muscle relaxers. Once those muscles get flared up it's hard to get them to calm down. I'm seeing my surgeon in SF on Thursday. Hopefully getting my back surgery scheduled, so I do feel your pain. Hope your back just needs some rest. What a great daughter you have, taking care of everything.

Kim, did you find out if there was any more breaks?

Good luck to everyone at the Fresno show!

Sarah I hope the Doc is right and you do feel better by friday. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease when I was 23. Normal to have it at 65 but not so normal at 23. I also have some curving of the spine. No arthritis yet though! *knock on wood* Back pain is the worst! I'd rather go through childbirth any day!

You, Pam and I should start a thread and compare notes. Her area of injury is very similar to mine before the spinal fusion. I still have 2 bad areas but nothing as bad as the one they did the fusion over.

Good luck!!!!!

Hi Kim from Modesto,

Let us know what you found out from the Ortho Doc.

Haven't seen many post here--are you obsessed with the Easter Hatch?

YES! She is. She's trying to talk me into getting another bator just to join the easter hatch.

My bator is full right now. And yes, I only have 1 bator!

I joined and listed her as my Recruiter so that she could gain points in the underwear contest

Come over to the dark side Sunny! ROFL

I go to ortho in the morning. Just hurts to sit here and type, so mostly I read. I can only take pain meds at night or I'm out of it. I went to a health food store yesterday and bought Arnica pellets to try and help. I dropped a board on my arm at the break yesterday and I'm really feeling it. Man!

It's 5 days past when my latest hatch should have done something, so there goes another order of eggs, shot to heck. So glad I took the Silkied AM eggs to Karen to hatch out for me. I sure hope they do something, but since they were delivered to me it's hard to say what will happen. I have 3 more hatches set and I'm adding another today or tomorrow. All of these are from my birds, so I better get something.

Sunny, those chicks you're spoiling were on 30% Gamebird crumbles. They also looooooove meal worms and had given them things like broccoli. I feed them the moring I broke my arm. The next day my daughter and Dakotah were supposed to be feeding them. The next day I went out and first dropped the waterer for the first time, one of 3! Then when I went check the feeder it was full of shavings. When I asked how much feed had been in there i was told it was still full. GREAT! Told them next time just dump it on the brooder floor and fill it. So although the feeders were full after that, they probably went a day and a half with whatever was just on the floor. But they can put away the dry stuff. They just have you trained. LOL When they get bigger can you take some pics? I have the gold colored ones but not the silver. Funny they all came from the same hen. I do think one though my be an OE and not an EE. Kind of remomber now that I had just started getting those again and the one I set, hatched.

OK, taking more Arnica to ease this pain up. Sat here to long.

Ha ha!!! That's a fact! All these critters have me trained well. Today I was sharing my strawberries with them! They all look at me with that adorable, big eyed, curious look, like "what is that she's eating?". You know the look. The one where they cock their head to the side? Next thing I know they've got a bunch of my strawberries! Don't act like it's just me. I heard the comment about the broccoli!

I hope the pain eases up soon!
