california whites

who has them? we got one from a feed store this year. what are they like? what will she look like later? there are not many pictures or information on them, so i thought id just ask.

if you have one or more, can you say what you think? whats the egg production??

also, if you could post any pictures you have, that would be great!!

I have one California White and I just love her! As a chick she was yellow with black spots but as she grew she is just white. She is smaller than my other girls but she lays beautiful large to extra large eggs. She also lays very well. She took a break for a month and a half during the winter but has laid an egg everyday for the last 40 days. She is very efficient!

how much does she weigh?

I don't know exactly how much she weighs but I wouldn't think she is more than 5 pounds. I would guess between 4 and 5lbs. She is smaller than any of my other standard girls (sex links, EE's).

we have two BOs who will both be about 8 lbs, and a california white and a silver spangled hamburg. the hamburg will only be about 4 lbs, so its good that we will have another little one to balance it out!
