Wow! Thank you all for the input. There is so much to learn which, for me, is part of the fun. The male ducks have been coloring up well and I will post new photos as soon as I can get them to hold still

I sent these photos to the breeder and she confirmed the gray male and that I have two blue fawn males and two pastel males, 4 pastel females and 1 butterscotch. When I got hatching eggs from her, she had broken down her breeding pens so it is possible that all they eggs were from different pairings as all the birds were running together at that point. There is no guarantee that any of the birds are related as she has a very large flock.

On a related topic, can anyone recommend a good book or two with color photos to help me learn more about the colors of call ducks and what to look for in show quality birds? I have a Standard of Perfection, but seeing photos is so much more useful as I am a complete novice.

I am taking 5 ducks to the Stevenson, WA show this weekend (Oct 15) in order to get some feedback and to help me learn more about the desirable traits. I am taking two of the nicest pastel females and three white males that I got from a different breeder (whose ducks have show well in the past). Wish me luck!
