Oh bless so he was really squirming and trying to push but just seemed bum was just coming out.... was worried he had been stuck like this for a long time so took more of the shell away carefully... and finally his head popped out... I have placed him back into incubator and left him... he is still very vocal and keeps waggling around, resring and trying again... I’m just going to leave him to finish off? Is that right? XxI can't see well in this picture but yes, if his leg is over his head it would cause him problems getting out.
They still tend to really struggle to get out when they're ready, though. This is how I knew my last foot over head duckling was ready to come out:

He was trying so hard to get out he pushed his foot out of the shell.
At this point it's pretty much a judgement call - you'll have to determine when you think they're ready.
I can’t realky see in even with glasses on but can you see there is still little blood veins? Would I harm him if I accidentally hurt one?
