Call duck eggs.

When you liftbthe head be sure the neck is allowed to lift (straighten) so their head stays out. They should have alert eye reaction (blinking). Slow and steady if you see blood, stop, wait an hour.

Dunk their bills in the Pedialyte. Get them to take small sips every hour or so. They're VERY tired.

Omg this is crazy. One of the ducks still has alot of fluid in the egg and looks like blood vessels still. The others eyes still wont open. Is it possible this is a very slow hatch? Are the eyes supposed to be closed? Im sure about the date they were set may 20th at 8:00pm mst.

No, their eyes should be open. They are probably weak.
I've never had a Call go that long and I've hatched a few.

I was going to post am updated pict but it is telling me my uploads are disabled and I have 0% of 10mb cause. I deleted the last pict. Really wanted to let you guys see what they look like now so you might have a better idea.

I figured it out here is a pict taken 30 min ago.

One on the left is the one with alot of what appears to be yolk. They are still moving and occasionally peeping.

The one in the picture to the right his breathing is starting to slow down. What do I do? When I try to break more of the shell off it starts to bleed. I am freaking out and feeling helpless. I feel like if I don't get him out he will die and if I do he will bleed to death. HELP HELP PLEASE

This is the exact situation I was in, I tried to help a few out and a few I left in, neither worked. My thought is that if they are weak they won't be able to kick themselves out of the egg, so if you can slowly pull them out it might give them a fraction of a chance.

I will say that all of my ducklings that have made it hatched with essentially no egg sac left, the ones that didn't had a noticeable egg sac.

The situation sucks no matter what.

jhealy6.. You may still be ok. I had to hatch some orphan call eggs for the first time this week and boy was it nerve wracking. 1 egg absorbed the yolk and detached from the egg in 24 hours. The 2nd egg took 2 days. The 3rd egg took 2 1/2 days. This was after I opened the tops and SLOWLY took more shell off untill they were 3/4 of the way out. The 4th egg just detached from the shell sometime last night and He has been open since Tuesday. I have one more egg pipped, but he is still absorbing yolk. I did go too fast with one egg and that baby bled and didn't make it.

Baby #2 was very sticky, limp, and eyes closed. I didn't think he would make it, but I gave him a drop of vitamins (polyvisol w/ NO iron) and electrolites. He perked up and is doing very well. Baby #3 was worse off. I did the vit. and elec. and he is good too, but one foot took 2 days to fully open. Today he is even stronger. Baby#4 is still in the bator. I gave him a drop of vit., but his feet and legs are still stiff and curled up. I hope they will open today. He is also very tired, limp, and eyes closed. But he is breathing well and trying to walk. I will continue to give him electrolites untill he can walk and then he will go in the brooder with the rest.

I know it is hard, but try to be patient. I can't believe it took 3-4 days for baby #4 to fully detach from the shell. So far, I have only lost the one. Slow and steady wins the race.

I hope your babies make it.
