Call duck problems

I'm hatching some today. 3 out so far. it's going to be a long night.
The reason they can be difficult is their short necks, and short bills, make it hard for them to pip and zip. The ones that are closer to SOP have even more difficult time.
I would be glad to sit up with mine hatching once I figure out how to get them to pip at all. Good luck!

It had died in the shell. It looked like the membrane inside was dried out. I’m using farm innovators digital incubator on 99.5 temp and 55-60 humidity until last three days and then up humidity. There was plenty of clear fluid in the shell. It was a gel like substance and then the yolk. I just hate that I can’t get one to hatch. The other was fully formed as well but died a few days before hatch time. No movement and the shell starts looking strange when candled.
I set my temperature at 100 and humidity at 40% till lockdown..Sounds like your humidity was too high if the air cells were still small at lockdown ..Sorry your having a hard time..

Thanks. I think you are right. I hate the thought that I caused this but I’m pretty sure I drowned them. I’m learning.
The smaller eggs and in Ducks require less humidity and yes we learn as we go. The last 10 days I Candle and if air cells appear too small I drop humidity to get them the right size for about 2 days?..Then return to 40 till lockdown once a good size ..I set humidity at 60% for lockdown..:frow

The air cell was saddled when I candled it today. When I opened it it looked kind of dry but was wiggly like jelly underneath. What does the humidity need to be?

I run humidity closer to 30%. Kinda depends on where you live and how humid your area/house is too.
I just opened one that I thought had quit, was still alive. Very gooey, didn't lose enough moisture either. And I have 3 that internally pipped but still quit. Calls are a challenge! Just keep trying.
I have 5 in the brooder, one out still in the incubator, 3 more in mid-assist. From 14 eggs, I may possibly get 8.
