Call duck sneezy and very high pitch quack!

Hmm?..I don't really pay much attention to the sound..As long as they don't act sick I don't worry about them...I have heard it so often over the years it's just something that happens..

It's only day 2... Just figured I'd ask. It's my first time hearing it so I was very nervous. She's still her normal self, just a little squeaky. I really appreciate your response immensely

Thanks and I really don't think you have anything to worry about. My Hen last night was doing it too and I haven't payed attention yet this morning?..Mine were out foraging yesterday in mud and puddles..Possibly grass in the throat too..Seriously its normal in a sense...

Any updates on your duck?

Mine is making the exact same noise. She used to have a loud, deep quack. Named her Aflac because she sounded just like the Aflac duck. For the past week she’s had the same high pitched quack as yours did. She still seems happy and doesn’t appear to be ill.

Did your duck’s high pitched quack go away on its own? Should I worry about mine?

My Magpie duck had a sneeze after some wet humid weather. I too thought it was seasonal allergies but I did take her to the vet and he gave us some antibiotics for a cold. Helped clear it up quite quickly.

She was sneezing and her quack was slightly more high pitched than normal. She was fine eating and her behaviour was normal, just the sneezing.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I ended up giving my duck some apple cider vinegar in her water and the high pitched quack cleared up by the following morning! I just added about 1 tablespoon per gallon of water and the chickens and ducks all loved it! So glad to have my “Aflac” duck quack back!
