Call ducks coop

What sq foot per call duck am I looking for for the inside of their coop (NOT RUN) I found a great dog house I can make work, hubby feels like it’s big enough but I want to make sure im not crowding them. I have three calls and they sleep practically on top of one another.

How big is the dog house?
Standard ducks are 4sq ft per duck, I am sure calls could have less space since they are smaller. Plus, except to sleep and maybe nest, they won't spend much time in the coop.

It’s only about 4sf so it actually sounds like it might be too small for 3 calls :/

I don’t have the exact measurements- I’m going to look at it on Saturday- they used it for A medium 35-40 pound dog. But a amazon search of what I think is the same had it as 2x2 which does sound small but again...I was sort of guessing that it was the same house.
It’s someone in our town selling it on the marketplace...

My husband is getting ready to build a coop for the chickens but I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for something for the ducks since they don’t need to roost

I would just ask them to measure it for you. I would hope they would have bought the medium sized dog house for a 40lb dog.

Chewy.com has this house too and shows all the sizes. The medium size would only give 2.44 sq ft per duck.

I have basically a little more than 4x4 with the playhouse and it is quite a bit of room. Just took this pic tonight. Have you tried craigslist? Or even tsc - they have dog houses that would most likely work for your ducks.

I have basically a little more than 4x4 with the playhouse and it is quite a bit of room. Just took this pic tonight. Have you tried craigslist? Or even tsc - they have dog houses that would most likely work for your ducks.

I live in a small town area... The closest CL city is an hour away and it’s hard to find stuff for our area on there. I’ll keep looking
I looked at TS last week but didn’t find anything I loved enough to pay the $$ for. I may just have hubby build the duck coop too.

That might be the best. Look at some of them on here, they are pretty simple compared to chicken coops. The base of my duck's playhouse is a pallet with plywood over top and painted. It wouldn't be hard to build a 4 walled box structure. We were beat after building the chicken coop and I had already gotten the playhouse (an hours drive from me - our CL is slim pickings too) so that is what we used. @CarleeAnn has a prety simple duck coop design (if I am remembering correctly).

I have two different designs and both are simple, my current one is just part of the shed sectioned off It’s my favorite, but I got lucky having the rental house come with a shed!!

My original one was made of cinder blocks and stones, all found around my previous property so I cannot give an estimate on cost to get from scratch, but it may serve as inspiration I suppose.
(P.S. the three cinder blocks on top served as a door at night with an old wire dog kennel door for extra protection, I have videos I could dig up if need be.)

i am building a 4x4 dog house style shed, so you think that will be plenty big enough for 3 bantam ducks? 2 calls and one slightly larger mallard drake.
