Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Will you be selling any of those guys? I've Been trying to find show quality calls. Driving me nuts. Found a pair of buffs, TO DIE for. $107 total shipped. Can't decide if I should get them or not.

Yes, I'm sure I will be selling at least 3-4 of them as some of them will be the same color. Won't know for sure though until they start feathering. As of right now, Lily is the only one that I know for sure will be staying here :)

Okay let me know :) so far I have 3 fertile eggs so if all goes well I'll need 3 mates for them!!

OK safe holes tonight. None have internally pipped.Since I just candled them looking for pips, I should leave them alone until then. If nothing in 24 hours after that, Then what?? Make the safe holes bigger to peek in? I am going to re-read this thread to see if I missed anything. Have you heard about using bacterium ointment to keep the membrane from drying out?

I think it was 'Sally Sunshine' or something like that.
I have but you are not at that point..

You really read into this to much, you are just going to get very confused and bad results could happen, NOT saying it will but could. Ask any of these girls on this forum, I have helped them and as you can see some have ended up with bad results and some with excellent results. The bad results are due to incubator problems and weak ducks, things that can not be helped. Good results, Well go back to the first post and let me know exactly how many babies are out and living. LOL

I guarantee if you count back on how many baby ducks are aLive and doing well, it will be HIGHER then those who have not succeeded.. Your stressing yourself out and really there's no reason to do so. You have NOT had the worst yet, The worst is when the 24 hours is over after the safe hole, NOW THAT'S WHEN THE STRESS KICKS IN. We are all hear to help and believe me all will be OK.

Try to avoid candling them at this moment. After you make there safe holes, DO NOT ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CANDLE OR OPEN THAT BATOR...

Tell me what your humidity is at right now, what is your temp at. Can you tell me if they have DIPPED. Dipping is VERY important, because after they dip it's usually 24 to 48 hours is when they crack....

I was just showing that Lily was joining them now and is no longer scared of them. She's the one that has the tan cap on her head lol

She doesn't look any bigger then them.. LOL WHEW, Thank god they are all there. WHEW

So, what you are saying is:
1. Stop reading every article I can get my hands on about hatching call ducks.
2. Dont worry so much, just deal with each deadline in the correct way, like if no pips by the end of the hatching day, make the safe holes, and wait 24 hours. DO NOT open incubator after the holes. Bacically rely on your advise. You have experience, and know just what to do. If somthing goes wrong it is just natures way.

I have been nervous, but I will stop. I dont want you thinking I am ignoring your advise, and throughing up your hands in frustration. I understand how that feels.

I am sure now that there is at least 1 duckling tapping on its shell. The taping is getting more freequent.

Lol. She's 8 days older but is not much bigger. Her egg was so tiny, the smallest in the bunch. She's definitely taller when she stands up but body wise not so much. I just love these guys. Boy do they eat like pigs though lol. Not sure where all the food goes with such little bodies lol

LOL, no that wasn't quite what I was getting at, I'm just afraid your reading into it to much and your just going to get lost on what should I do and what not to do..

So I believe today is there due date is that correct? If so, I would DEFINITELY start making safe holes. Have you notice if they have done the dipping thing??

Don't be nervous this isn't the time to be nervous, I'll tell you when to get nervous and that is usually after the 24 hours of no progress after the safe hole. LOL

Do you have a cell phone that you can take pictures and send to me?

Have you taken her swimming yet? I have taken Sassy swimming and because I can't bring a baby chick with her, OMG, she gets upset. She doesn't understand chickens can't do everything that she can. She's starting to get her feathers in, I don't think she's gonna make it inside for the others to hatch, she's already working on her second week and the others are only on there first week. So I'm not sure how to handle her going outside at 3 weeks, I thought maybe I would keep her in longer but she is SOOO darn messing. The chicks are soo nice and neat but she gets into that water and all heck breaks loose.. LOL..
