Call Ducks Finally Hatched

My mastiff is dumb, you have to call his name Three TIMES before he response. It's like the first time, he ignores, the second time he looks at you like Are you calling me in Scooby doo voice and the third time he's like OH you are talking to me.  DURRRRR.

So that's my boy. LOL

LOL. My frenchie is the dumb one lol. He's so dang cute though that you can't but love him. And he loves his chickens and ducks. Mastiff will run outside, do a quick check of everybirdie and then go about his business but my frenchie will just sit in front of the runs for hours, watching them all. I usually have to make him come in the house lol. I just love them both to pieces!!

Some poor soul is going to click on this thread and think.. Call ducks, they're talking about dogs LOL!

So in keeping up with our straying topic... I keep shining the candler in through the incubator window to check on pekin eggs and see one is pipped and one is tipped over in the turner.... So I quickly make sure the pipped one is getting air and stand the other back up. They're due tomorrow.
I look in again, tipped over. So I take them out the egg turner to lay them all down......that one pipped the wrong end and keeps trying knock the egg over while me being a doof is standing it back up!!
As with the call ducks, I'm going to have one thinking I'm an idiot!

Oh and I'll have Call eggs Tomorrow!!!!!

OK your perkin is due tomorrow, if no progress, get a hold of me. WAIT, why are they on the turner?? Four days before hatching day you should stop turning them and three days before hatching day you should lock them down?

If the one is at the wrong end you are going to have problems with it, he may need assistance, so you know the drill.. LOL

I had them on lock down and had shut off the turner days ago. usually leave them right in the turner as is.... Is that bad? I never have had a problem hatching regular duck eggs that way - just the calls Which as I learned from you - lay em down!
I did open it and yes I know - bad bad bad. It was quick quick. But I wanted to check the pipped and saw the tipped over one Then I did lay them all down and took the egg turner out.
I assisted the little backwards guy just enough to make sure his nostrils weren't covered. He's progressing faster than the one that pipped correctly The other one is just rolling around like he's in a hamster ball :/

Awww. I love the little tail . Congrats. Today is day 4 on my 7 call eggs in the incubator right now. I have 1 heart beat and what I think is 1 blood ring so far. 2 do not look fertile, 1 is questionable and 2 others that look fertile but no growth yet. We shall see what happens. 20 more coming next week

Well it's early for you still, so things may change! You candle the egg and it looks like something gross is floating around in there and yet it's beautiful and exciting!

Definitely still early. Hoping the other 2 fertile ones take off. I get so excited about the little ones. I love seeing them move around. Right now the 1 is just a speck but I love seeing the heart beating. It's so neat to see. I'm quick about checking them but would watch it for hours if I could lol. Fingers crossed for your new eggs. Mine won't be here until next week. So exciting. These little guys are my birthday present to myself so hopefully I can get a few of them to hatch
