Call Ducks Finally Hatched

400

It was like that when it hatched. It srrong and doing well otherwise. There is some down growing out of it. What shuld I do? I cant put it with other chicks, they would peck at it.

can someone give me the whats what on hatching calls?  have found two hatchery that sell ducklings but their pricey and i know alot of people wont ship call ducklings cause their delicate.  but i would really love to have just a trio of them.

how hard are they to hatch?

Have you hatched waterfowl before? Hatching calls by incubation is a lot of trial and error. My first batch only one survived. I've improved drastically since then.

If you're just wanting a trio, I would recommend buying juveniles or adults. That way you also know what gender you are getting!!!

BUT if you do want to take a go at hatching, stick with this thread and we can help you through it.

I would definitely keep him separated from the other chicks. Maybe it's just swelling from trying to get out of the egg like your call had. Give it a couple days and go from there. It really looks fleshy in the pictures though.
