Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Is this the guy who's been in there for 27 days?? If sooo let's see him. You know the number...

Yeah it is. I'll send you pictures. I opened him, he's alive. When I wet the membrane he appears to be fully absorbed vein wise. But when I shine the flashlight in the egg part I can see huge veins. I have no idea how there is a duck in there. Barely enough room.

Can someone help me.. Yesterday in my call duck egg I saw veins, today at day 26 the veins have all gone... Does this mean he has died?? :-(

Day 26 is hatch day so it's normal for the veins to start drying up. You should not be turning him anymore and you should have your humidity raised. Fingers crossed for you

Very sorry you lost him.

Mine is doing good. He had the usual issue, fully absorbed veins but had about a pea sized amount of yolk to absorb. I pulled him out of his shell about midnight (just his head) and threw some onion peels in with him. Woke up later about 2am and he had kicked out and was moving around, he's fully absorbed and not swollen. Gonna let him fluff up before I toss him in the brooder. Need to find him a stuffed animal too. At least until Sunday when my next batch is due to hatch (which I hope at least one hatches ON Sunday because my nieces and nephew will be here).
