Call Ducks Finally Hatched

The eggs I think were mandarins did not develop. They were not fertile, but they were definitely duck. They had the tougher non porous shells. I think they were practicing. I am waiting for more for Clourset.

No problem. I'm not in any rush. They can practice all they want lol :) That way the end result will be perfection lol. My name is Tammy by the way, that way you don't have to call me clousert :) Either is fine with me though. When I'm racing they all know and call me by my last name that's one of the "Clouser girls", or that's "clouser's daughter" lol. One of the consequences of following in my father's footsteps, and not a bad one I must admit :)

I Think I will have spotted ducks coming out of my ears! This summer I will be splitting the aviary. Ducks of certain colors and a separate area for the chickens. I want to have spotted, magpie, apricot, and white. Eventually I would also like to have  buff.

I have whites, plus a bunch of other colors! One magpie, but he's overmarked.

Hoping I get apricots from Tammy's eggs.

Hopefully I'll get some more spotted and magpies from you :)

If you want some ducklings from me, I think my blue fawn carries the pied gene. I'm getting lots of blue fawns with lots of white on them, going to pick one to replace him, and I'll have a bunch of others. Plus my pencilled shouldn't take long to start laying!! Whoop!

Oh lol so that's what that is!! I always wondered.

Thanks guys!! That's really helpful :)
If candled and it's not clear and it's dark, BOOM Rotten of course, this is NOT going to be good one for obvious reasons. If candle it and it's Clear chances are your OK. However there's NO true way to determine if it's fertiled or Unfertiled. So you would have to throw it in the bator or crack it opened.

So Yes and NO, On the can you tell if it's going to be good before incubating..

Alright I'm done. I am no longer buying call eggs. Swaps, and live ducklings/pairs from now on.

My last purchase tied the knot. SQ eggs off eBay, AND there was a heat pack RIGHT UNDER THE EGGS. They were just as warm to touch as my eggs in the bator!!! I threw them right in the bator, I seriously hope they are ok.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THAT?!

Ugh.

Tammy has anyone claim your eggs on that swap page yet? If not I will. Need something to put me in a Better mood >.<

Ah ok, I candled some eggs and on one you can see the yolk inside, looks all dark, but all the others are clear so didn't know if I should use that egg...
