Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Oh I forgot I have a silver/blue male that goes around mating with whoever he wants. I can give you a good idea of who mates with who, well except a pastel female which every male has mated with. Even one chicken tried to mate with her! It was a bantie so it did no harm.

Well Junior boy got himself into some more trouble, I heard him SCREAMING in the cage, went in to check on him, OMG, blood everywhere, he had some how sliced his beak in Half.  From left to right,  one end to about 1/4 of his beak was just hanging by a thread.  OMG, this little guy is going to be the DEATH of me.  So We cleaned him up and on one end that was totally separated, we put a dab of super glue on it.  Once we got the beak to stay together and lined up, we put Liquid bandaid on the rest of his cut.  What a terrifying scream and what a life..  This guy couldn't have it any worst. 

I think I'm a horrible parent to him. 

Happy New Year! How's the little one doing? Haven't been on in a while so been catching up on posts. Funny that someone said our calls aren't calls lol. Haven't had anyone complain to me thus far with babies they've hatched. In the middle of doing some remodeling around the house and getting it ready to go on the market. Hoping to move this year and start anew Hope the new year is treating you well so far

GRRRRR I'm getting ready to give up on JUNIOR BOY, He got himself INTO MORE TROUBLES... I noticed the other day one of his wings is showing signs of Angel wing. He's not on any thing with High protein so not sure what it's doing this. It's an easy fix though. I just can't believe all the ISSUES I'm having with this one..

How's his bill doing?

His bill is a HUGE problem but That reminds me, HES GOT ANOTHER PROBLEM. As I was checking out his cracked bill which is NOW split.

He's got this gap on the left side and it connects on the right side. Very scary because anything could get caught on it and rip it right off.

But his other problem is, HIS BOTTOM JAW TOTALLY SPLIT. he's got a broken bottom bone. GRRRRRRR


the only thing keeping me from strangling him is the fact that he's got these AMAZING colors coming in AND he constantly talks to me. OMG we talk all night long. I have to tell him OK it's bed time enough talking for one night. HE'LL STILL TALK.. lol..He's got TWO different sounds when he's talking.

Hes got his gabby sound and then his Happy sound..

oh wow. That just tugs at my heartstrings. I feel like tearing up. He is such a scrappy little fellow and so tough. I sincerely hope he can heal up so he doesn't get any further injuries to his face. I am glad to hear he's a talker.

Awww. Glad to hear that you haven't given up on him. I hope he gets to healing up soon.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix a completely broken bottom jaw bone on a duck? I think I'm gonna need an avain expert on this one.

Try using a putty that is safe to heat and will harden with heat. There is some putty that someone I know used to fix his swans broken jaw, he just put the putty around the crack... The swan also had the top half of its beak taken off so he puttied that up as well.
