Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I have 104 eggs in the incubator lol. Only 2 call eggs though which are due on the 12th.

No. Day 1 is 24 hrs after they go in. Hatch day is 26 days from the time they were put in. I quit turning mine on day 22 and lock down/raise humidity on day 23.

24 hours? I thought it depended on what time you put them in. Storey's guide says if they go in early in the morning, than that's day 1, if it's in the evening or at ntight then the following morning is day 1. You're the one with all the ducks though, so I guess you'd know.

1 day is 24 hrs. If they went into the incubator in the early morning then yes you would count that as day 1 because they were in the whole day. If not then the following day would be day 1.

I have a home made incubator and 2 styrofoam incubators that I use for hatching. Getting ready to make an even bigger incubator that should hold around 300 eggs.

No other ducks. The calls are it. The rest are chickens. I have a flock of about 90 chickens or so and about 150-180 chicks in brooders. I lost count of the chicks somewhere lol.

So call ducks hatch sooner than other ducks? I thought 28 was average for most ducks, excepting muscovies being longer. Glad to learn that, in case I ever try calls.

How long of incubation for a mixed call duck. Like half call duck. Just wondering because other ducks are 28. What about a muscovy and call duck?

Muscovies and calls aren't genetically compatible. Muscovies can only breed with other muscovies; all other domestic breeds are mallard-derived.
