Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I'm afraid not, he's cold and gone. He must have passed during the night. :/ His yolk was absorbed but his veins weren't. I remember seeing them when I candled last night and he was peeping and wiggling away. I just don't understand what happened. Like I said last night he had pipped early, I wonder if that had anything to do with it?

The one with the external pip is peeping and wiggling, and still nothing on the third and final egg. I may wind up with just one baby, after all...
please please please make it Little One.

Hopefully a girl.... You could still try CPR. Is his beak short... If you are ok with it could you post a pic of the little guy?

Honey, he's gone. I'm sorry... And yes, his bill is tiny, but it was enough to internally pip, and it was right in the correct position. I don't think you want to see him, it's awfully upsetting. He just looks peaceful and still, but it's very very sad nonetheless.

I'm kind of amazed that the other call was able to pip all by itself, the hole hasn't gotten any bigger but I know it takes a lot of hard work for such a teeny baby! Hopefully, he makes it. And double-hopefully the third egg is just wanting to sleep in a little bit before making its big entrance.

Ok, It is just sooo upsetting!!!! Please keep us updated!!! I just always want to do something but you cant! Can you send a pic of the eggie that has externally pipped?

I will, I promise. I did do a full eggtopsy (I couldn't bring myself to until now) and I did find that its yolk wasn't absorbed, it still had a dime-sized amount left to go, and its lower mandible was strangely distended and full of a clear liquid. I don't know if that means it drowned, or was just the first signs of decomp, or what. No crust or foam around the nares to indicate drowning, just that little fluid-filled, bb-sized pouch on the underside of the jaw. The humidity is still at 60%, so it shouldn't be too high for the babies. The baby wasn't sticky or shrinkwrapped, it was just...gone. ._. Its bill was so, so tiny, Mitch. Even tinier than Wobbles' when he first hatched, I'm sure of it.

Trying to stay hopeful. The second egg is rocking and rolling like a jumping bean, so I hope by tomorrow I have at least one baby!

Oh this is sooo sad...... Was it in the right position.... IDK... It shouldn't be anything genetic. If it is I have a big problem!!! That is good about the tiny bill though. I guess there is a silver lining to every storm cloud.... How are the other babies?? Any improvement on number 3? Can you tell boy or girl on the gone one? Or is that creepy?

Do you have any idea on what could have happened cathy?
So hard to say without seeing pictures, even then it would still be a wild guess.
