Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I'm curious from all of you guys, Where did you get your FIRST call duck???

I got mine about 45 minutes from the house, I didn't know much about them, I figured what the heck, I traded eggs for eggs, none of them hatched because of the Call challenge. Then we tried again my second batch was from other friend on here she had Butterscotches.. and it went from there. So my First call was a Butterscotch and I still have him today..

Six years ago, I've started with Chickens first. As soon as we got our house, I got my first silkie. LOL that was eleven years ago, I no longer have my first silkie.

That's cool you still have him.. 11 years would be a long time for a chicken to live, although I have a Cochin Bantam hen going on 8.

EIGHT WOW, that's great. LOL No I don't have my first silkie. I don't even think I have his off springs. HUM. Let me think about that one.. NOPE, I don't think I do, mine are all new since him..

A friend wanted Calls, so I got eggs from clousert... had 4 hatch from my first try at Calls, shipped even, lol... then a couple more from her, 1 from minihorse... then I bought a flock from minihorse... still have the first hatched from my first batch... and I never did get him any Calls...

I never knew poultry could live so long having a Muscovy drake going on 12 this coming march. My dh says you know we thought for sure the last 2 winters we'd lose him.not from sickness just from being frail not molting any more things like that. but he has proved us wrong both years. He thinks Ernie will out live us lol I'd love to see some pics of your Butter scotch colored Calls. I am not sure I have seen that color

I dont have any calls...yet...
But my first ducks and chickens came from my sister in law. Extra males that she had, and I wanted ducks for my pond at camp. She brought me three drakes... and 5 roosters! Lost 3 roosters to predators before we got everything secure. Killed one for his mean antics a couple months ago, still have the last one. Lost the 3 drakes last winter, horrible snow storm. Hatched my own last March, still have all of them. Chicken math hit hard after that
