Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Thank you. It was a long night but the other little guy/girl is doing great. We named him Jeremy so he's sure to be a girl!
He's in the brooder now so I'll post a pic later It makes you realize how much the calls have grown, they are bigger than he is!

Before I went to bed I checked on the duckies and they were both fine, I kept getting up to check on them too. But at 1:30 in the morning when I checked them the little guy that pipped out the wrong end was gone
I don't know why. Every time I checked him he was okay, but I guess he wasn't because he died.
the second little guy is okay but now I'm paranoid, he's quite a few hours behind the first one. I hope he's okay. He's all fluffy and cute and seems fine, but so did the other one.
It's going to be a long night.....

Thank you. It's weird that something that you had for such a short time can have you up in the middle of the night bawling your eyes out :/
My sister said that too, maybe something internally. Sigh. I don't know what happened.
So I was up all night with the other little guy. He seems okay but I'm finding it hard to be reassured by that, because of the first one.

He's about 15 hours old. He finally got his butt out of the bottom end of the shell around 9pm. My daughter and I were making jokes that it could be a poop catcher because even though his legs were out and he was hobbling around, the bottom half of his shell was over his bottom! . I didn't want to pull it off in case he still had any egg sack left. So we just let him be.

The bin he is in is clear. So he's set in the brooder like my other new babies were. The little calls lay near it like they know he's a duck. I'm going to move them out of there tomorrow so they can make everything wet without affecting everything else. He's not much smaller than they are so I'm going to attempt to put the duckies all together for now. I have a 1 month old rouen(?) and a 5 month old. He will eventually be with them when he gets too big for the calls. This is the plan anyway... I don't know how well it's going to go lol!

SOUNDS GREAT, yes, I agree, I think he will do very well with the other's that you have even though they are a little bit older, He should do just fine with them. That's the great thing about ducks they don't have the attitude like some chickens thinking they are in charge, Ducks just seem to get along. LOL Well except when they turn into adults then you have some attituders.. LOL

When our mediums were realizing they were boys girls etc is when they got attitudes. We had a Khaki that would chase the poor Rouen male every chance he got. We had to separate them at night for a while. Eventually the Rouen realized it was bigger than the Khaki and made him knock it off! They ended up separating into two little clicks Generally I try to let them work it out unless someone is being too mean. When the Muscovy's were Jrs we had some tailless, naked necks for a bit while they worked out who was boss, but no one was getting hurt so I let them be for the most part. They fight kinda like sumo wrestlers - holding on and pushing each other around lol! Once after it rained, two of them were fighting and looked exhausted so I decided to break it up. They were flapping their wings making mud (yes mud) fly up all over my pants and splattered me in the face! I kept telling myself, "it's mud, it's mud" - not duck poop!!

Well Mud LOL is better then having Love Juices all over you. I had a paint rooster, try to mate with a hen and he was the wrong way, Squirted his Love juices all over me, even got into my mouth. YEK.....
