I may have some more early hatchers again. I can already see a couple of the babies right at the top of the air space, trying to pip internally just like my first little one. They keep pushing the membrane up into the air space where I can see it. The others look like they're right on schedule. Turning stops tonight at day 22 so they can get into position. I will turn them once more when I get home tonight and then that's itSoon my little Lily will have friends

I have a Styrofoam incubator and a turner. The eggs go in with the fat ends up. It shifts them side to side, keeping the air sacs facing up. I found a few sites recommending this for shipped eggs. The air sacs were kind of wobbly. I that is called a" loose air sac". I culled the ones that were completely detached before I set them. temp. is 99, humidity is 50. I can see movement in all 7 eggs. One of the air sacs does not seem to be decreasing as it should. This is day 19. The thermometer and humidity Gage are at the same level as the eggs.
I have another incubator set up for lock down set at 96.6. Should I lay them flat, or in a little cup with the fat end pointed slightly up? I know the temp is a little low but I didn't mess with anymore to avoid temp swings.
Thanks for checking all this! I hope I am at least close in this!
Sorry, I didn't see your other post, HUM don't know how I missed it. Once they start to develop, the Loose air cells is considered no longer a problem. They will hatch even if the air cell is loose. The MOST important thing is to not have them STICK to the side of the shell and apparently you are past that stage.Oh! I just found your other post.
1. I taped them flat on the turners like in #2 lazy method The air sacks aren't loose anymore.
2. took some water out to lower humidity.
3. Incubator cooled down while taping the eggs, so I am waiting for it to get up to desired temp again.
4. I am an idiot, I should have looked at #2 earlier.
5. I changed the due date to day 26, lock down to day 22.
Thanks!
And thank-you Clousert, four welcome and advise as well.![]()
YOUR FINE, no messes here yet.Thank you!
I am hoping not to mess it up this time.![]()
Well I learned a valuable lesson today. Went home crying lol silly me. Offered to pick up some birds to save a "friend" (bought buttons from her and we've talked a lot since then and met at auctions) money on shipping.
Long story short the lady that has the birds is nothing more than a common bully (which I don't take well) she sent me several FB messages accusing me of lying and trying to steal the birds and my care being "inferior" to hers.
I don't believe my "friend" meant that to happen. This other woman (same one I got my ducks from) is just very cruel. Silly me can't take all the stress and burst into tears at work. I'm frickin 26 years old too old to be crying over some bully.
