These are all the same person but there's different pictures in each ad....Are the aussies call ducks as well? And how do I tell show/breeder quality from pet quality??

I hate to just take someones word for it and I don't want to drive 4-5 hrs for a pet quality bird....

These look better. Not any colors I'm looking for except maybe a butterscotch female that I think I see in 1 of the pictures.

I'm no expert but have done a lot of research. You can also search online for for show quality pictures and check the national call breeders website to get an idea of what show quality looks like. Usually small short bodies, short wide bill, short fat neck, and wide "puffy" cheeks. Some may not be perfect show quality but make great breeder quality but if you get several traits that aren't right its usually hard to breed them all out. I have 2 that are good quality (apricot hen and butterscotch drake), my buff pair are nice but have slightly longer necks so hoping to breed the stubby necks into them. My penciled male is slightly on the larger side so hoping to breed that out too. I wouldn't mind pet quality in a magpie if the color was right and it wasn't several traits that were bad. I just don't want to buy anything right now until I know what I'm going to have out of the 10 I already have and the 23 due next week.

OH. MY. GOSH.

I just found silkie call ducks on Dave Holderread's page. I am done for. Totally not buying any adults right now. My bank account depleted just by looking at the prices/pictures but I HAVE to have them. They are BEAUTIFUL.

Lol. Definitely dangerous to go looking but I love seeing what's out there and all the pretty pictures. Quickly empties the pockets though. The silkies are cute though!!

Yes it is! At least this way I will get what I want instead of wasting money (since I can't tell the difference from pet quality to show quality) ill just order from the best! Sucks they have a 10 duckling minimum. So it'll about $175 after shipping. Lol.

Nope they hop in just fine??? Maybe the call ducks are particular? I'll find out when mine hatch....IN A WEEK!!!!!! can you tell I'm totally impatient?! lol
I can't wait omg it's getting close, and yeh I think it is just the calls because none of mine all 23 they will not go up and down it has to be so they can glide right in. Perhaps this is a sign that they are LAZY!!! He'll they are at hatching time!!!!

Haha shhh!!! I'm hoping clousert will be all "hey ill buy a pair" then I can be like woooo and go get them (cause that makes sense ya know) LOL

Well then we really need to put the PRESSURE ON!!!
