Fertility in my call ducks has begun . My first very own baby has begun to grow . I'm soooo ecstatic. I'm pretty sure the eggs are from my buff hen but I've only seen my silver apricot male mating her. They will make some beautiful babies

It's her 8th egg. She laid her 9th yesterday so hopefully it's fertile too

That's awesome!! Are they laying in a nesting box? I have a dog house for the ducks but they don't use it....I might try building a couple nest boxes to encourage them to start nesting. Can't wait to get my first egg!!!

Good Luck on that, LOL, I have several nesting boxes, TWO dog houses and another box that is completely dark all the time, Guess where my girls lay?

THAT probably won't be good enough for them. LOL, I even had one girl, go out into the Woods, hatched out 7 babies and came back home limping. OUT IN THE WOODS WITH A FOX RUNNING LOOSE. COME ON GIRLS!!!

They just don't think. LOL...
