This is just an idea.
One of my eggs was close to hatching, but I could see goo. I wanted to try making a little hole and use a hypodermic syringe to extract the liquid. I waited too long, and it died.
After, I did extract the extra fluid, but of course it was to late. But I was able to get all the liquid out without injury to the fetus or yolk. I think it would have worked if I had done it sooner, and then taped the little hole shut after.
Hopefully I will never get another egg like that. But if I do, I will try it. Doing nothing obviously doesn't work.
Anyway just an idea.![]()
Don't give up! You will get to 99% again.
Nice try but NOPE, it does NOT work, I have tried. I've actually gotten all the Extra goo out and sealed up the egg, it lasted a Really Really long time but never absorbed and finally died. GRRR, I have tried that little trick, thought the SAME thing as you. If I get that out PERHAPS...... but nope didn't work... I even Flushed the egg from the INSIDE with water to Rinse off the left over goo thinking OK NOW it can absorb, tried it on TWO different eggs. Results they both died...
I would love to try it on these guys but because I'm down to two eggs from Tammy, I am NOT going to risk it. I'm hoping they can Bust that membrane, I think once they do, the egg will fill up with goo and perhaps I will have a better chance.
You see if you disturb them before they get into the Air cell, I believe they die because there lungs can't handle intaken of air, I think it's too quick or that much at one time. Not sure if this is true or not but that's what I'm seeing so far. So my theory is if they can bust the air cell, give them 24 hours for there lungs to adjust to the air intake THEN perhaps all this would work. because by then there lungs have already adjusted to breathing..
