Also I would not do it to a duck just hatched. They are just sleepy from hatching. If they have not picked up by the next day, then yes.

Oh yes, she will. Will she hatch them out herself?
Give me some pointers, I have some that have some goo, i will send pics just as soon as I put my critters to bed before this tornado hits us..On the sticky chicks I tried two different approaches. The first one, I only withdrew a little goo to get it started, then laid it on it's side, with the hole at the bottom onto the gauze pad, without taping it. That is the bibbed call that made it. The other I taped the gauze pad to the egg, the liquid on the pad caused the egg to infect. So no tape.
Also I figured a way to get vitamin water into a weak chick without any risk of it going into the lungs. First I used a vaccination type syringe (NO NEEDLE) Then I attached a piece of candula (that goes with oxygen) It is very soft and rubbery. I insert it through the mouth and into the stomach, and insert a few cc's at a time. It is like Gauge feeding, but not painful, and not over feeding them. I will add a picture next that I took with my phone camera.
arent you just basically tube feeding??Also I would not do it to a duck just hatched. They are just sleepy from hatching. If they have not picked up by the next day, then yes.
OK. I am going to post pictures of my "Mandarin" duckling. I am not sure if it is actually mandarin. If anyone has an answer I would appreciate it! Pictures will follow...Give me some pointers, I have some that have some goo, i will send pics just as soon as I put my critters to bed before this tornado hits us..
