Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I have vent sex ed my ducklings before but I was told it shouldn't be done past 3 to 4 days old. Why is that? Or do you sex yours past that age? I was never given a reason for not doing it.

I don't know where that comes from, you can vent sex at any age. I am guessing that after a few days it is harder because of muscle development....

Thank you! I was out of town during the 3 day window on one of my hatchings and my kids were so mad they had to pick gender neutral names! Guess what I'm doing tomorrow...renaming 5 ducks!

You can vent sex at any age. As they get older there is more chance of damaging the reproductive tract if you're inexperienced and they tend to squirm more as they don't tend to care for it, but if you're familiar with it then there's no difference.

How did you know where his head was?

I need help! My last call duck to hatch this morning has a twisted foot! It turns in at the ankle. The foot is spread correctly, it is just facing the other foot. How do I fix this, or can it be fixed?

Okay, so the last couple of days were hell. Got a migraine and was sick in bed for two days. Only managed to do the very least and continue duckling care and get my daughter ready for school.

So... Now that I feel human again... I have been doing this stuff for my little buddy, Igor.

Food covered on vitamin E. Water with 2 droppers full of vitamin B complex and one dropper full of poly. I give another vitamin E tab directly on the beak so I know he's getting it. Morning and night and I also massage the crooked neck. It straightens out momentarily and then goes right back. They hate when they are separated for the massage. 10 minutes of them yelling at me several times a day lol

Well I would have done things a little different, how long have you been doing this and how old it the bird?
