Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Also, I DID claim Tammy's swap eggs, and it DID put me in a better mood because I got two pieds and they are shaping up to be PERFECT. Ha.

Glad you love them. I had 1 hatch today out of a couple eggs I had in the incubator. He's very dark so not exactly sure what he is yet. Waiting for him to fluff up. Have about 15 eggs under a broody that are due in a couple more day :) Really hoping for pied babies of my own :)

Oh fingers crossed!!! I hatched my first pied a little over a week ago. It and its hatch mates flew all the way to michigan to their new home!!!

I'm finally letting one of my blue hens sit. I had so many eggs that I couldn't keep up with them, I was feeding them to my dogs! So she's sitting and hoping the others will slow down, have inlaws coming for a week tonight, so I won't really have time to collect eggs!!

Thanks. Both broody mommas have done great so far. I also have 2 chickens who are broody with 1 batch hatching this week so all 4 brooders are going to be full this weekend lol. Have decided to build a coop just for mammas so they can raise their own babies. I hate taking them away from them but the current coops aren't baby safe so going to change that.

That's a good idea! I'm building a couple breeding pens so I can separate the colors, it'll be a few months before they get done though...just in the plans sort of thing!

Ahh love this one :)

I just want to give an update. The ducklings were getting to big for their little home so they went back to my sister Sunday. Igor, with the crooked neck will be well cared for and they might actually try prednisone for him. My niece will ask her boss (a veterinarian) what he thinks about trying it. The two ducks will be given a home at my sisters home and not on the farm.

And they sent me home with chicken eggs.

did you do the 15 minute cooling each day and the spritzing with spray bottle? I haven't done this to mine, but was wondering if I'll have issues because I didn't do it?

I never cool mine but have tried not misting and it didn't work out well so have since gone back to the misting 3 times a day when I turn them.
