Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I agree! Not knowing what color is going to hatch is half the fun and excitement! I have 3 calls, a grey pair and a male snowy, and my male snowy was thrown from a pair of greys. So, I'm praying I hatch out a little snowy girl from my grey momma! :) She could throw greys, snowys, or even whites! Wishing and hoping for a little snowy girl! What color calls do you have? Are your possibilities endless?

Well, I've got me an EXTREMELY rare color, so I wanna keep 'em pure. :p Buuuuut if I hatch out these babies and I get a female, I have a chance of getting chocolate pied, another rare and sought after color, so I'm hoping that's what I'll get!

Pretty much endless lol. I have pied, penciled, blue magpie, pastel, buff, white, gray, lavender/silver, buff & white, and apricot silver. I have at least 1 pair of each color except the lavender/silver and the buff & white in which I just have 1 female of each.

I believe 50% is normal for shipped eggs?

That's hatch rate, not necessarily the fertility rate. Although it's certainly possible some were just too damaged to develop, I usually see a little bit in shipped eggs, even if they often become quitters. But as I said I'm not ruling them out, it took six days for Wobbles' veins to become visible, so I'm giving it until then until I toss any of 'em.

Lol, wow! That is endless! Okay, everyone that is expecting babies, post how many are in your bator, the color or possibility of colors, and when your hatch date is! Not only am I just curious and excited for us all, we can give each other constant encouragement and any helpful tips or advice throughout as well!

Very exciting! I have two questions (I probably shouldn't have to ask, sometimes I over think things though) 1) Are you suppose to count the day you put the eggs in the incubator? 2) For lock down, does it start three days before the hatch date or is the hatch date included?

No. Day 1 is 24 hrs after they go in. Hatch day is 26 days from the time they were put in. I quit turning mine on day 22 and lock down/raise humidity on day 23.
