Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Hummmm.... I've always read that no matter what you're supposed to let shipped eggs settle or something. I'll follow the expert's advice though...! And so the whole three times a day turning is a no? Only once a day?

AHH Ok let me try to clarify.. with shipped eggs, you have to incubate them in and Upright position and shift them slightly back n forth or front to back once a day. The Rule for turning them THree times a day ONLY applies when they have started to develop OR the air cell looks perfectly fine, which usually happens with your own eggs, not shipped.

I'm no expert when it comes to shipped eggs, but the gal that sent me pea eggs suggested I should let them rest fat end up for 24-48 hours, which I did, and five of six developed, but only four hatched. All six of mine had very jiggly air cells.

deatached and bubbles, are really hard.. they need more time usually

I think it is funny that someone gave your ebay guy a neutral review because only 9 eggs hatched and he payed 50 dollars for the eggs and insisted that was too much? That is only 6 dollars a duckling? That isnt bad at all!

AH okay. So I will need to get egg cartons then. I'll get them when I get to TSC. Found out they wont be here until Monday, so we have time. I'm relying on you guys!

I guess I should be clearer, lol... Mark all eggs with a different number, then candle all and make notes on quality of air cell, like note if it's jiggly, attached or loose, then set all of them and see what happens. If any are cracked, you might want to toss those, but some peafowl people have used Elmers glue or wax to seal the cracks and set them.

and by cracks she means yolk is leaking out. Hair line cracks are still useable.
