Call Ducks Finally Hatched

So like his Daughter, Looks exactly like him, She would have the lavender gene now right so what if I breed her with Dad?  Is that to close to inbreeding? because the only other Color I could hook her up with is a black silkie..

So when you said, use the correct wording about mauve for chickens, that doesn't really apply right because your saying he is a lavender so Lavender would be the correct wording. right or am I totally confused again..
yes, you could pair him with his daughter. This is considered line breeding in chickens. It works for a few generations. If she is the same color then youd get all lavender babies from the 2.

lol. Don't ream! You got lavender which is what you were told. I've only seen 2 or 3 people with silkies that carry chocolate and they are still in the rough project stages!
So is it possible that he has some sort of gene throwing off brown chickens? Because again, I don't have any browns in that coop.

and lavender is the correct wording for what you have in chickens.

Well let me get a pic of her for you, I swear they look alike, she's going threw some ugly stages right now so she's not the prettiest thing but I'm sure you'll be able to tell..

AND THAT"S WHAT I WANT MORE LAVENDERS. WOO HOO for me.. LOL

I know in the chicken world you can breed father with daughter to help correct defaults..

You should be fine breeding her back to her father, but I'd also breed her to the black as well to broaden your genetics... Lavender is recessive of black, so that is the one color you can safely breed Lav to... it'll take some generations, but you'll get 50/50 blacks and black splits from 1st pairing then breed back the splits, etc...

I have a black rooster in there, so she can have her choice. HAHAHAHHA but for now, I think I will separate her with him to get more lavenders and then add them to the Black rooster...

If you could have seen my face, I'm was sooo ready to curse that person out. I had my email up, Subject was : YOUR A LIAR, HE"S NOT A LAVENDAR!!! and the rest is history, so glad I didn't hit SEND. LOL OMG, but all good now. hahahaha.

What will I get breeding Him with the Splash hens? Now I know with the Splash I should have a black or a blue in there because the splash starts to fade if you breed splash with splash. But I have zero splash roosters so I don't think I need to worry about that but what should he produce, half lavendars and half splash? or will there be blues and blacks in the makes?
