Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Awe, yay, you're keeping her. She sounds sweet. And awesome cuz she flies.

I'm going to try to get a pic of each one this weekend. She's a very sweet bird, and I'm really glad she turned out to be a female. One of my other first picks this year turned out to be a drake. Almost all the 2015 ones are flying now, but Skylar really loves to fly.

My Holderread's Waterfowl, Elite birds, seem to have no interest in flying. I think centuries of domestication have quenched the desire to fly, especially in the elite birds that enjoy their domestic life and have no reason to want to fly away from their free food and water. :) :D

Saw a wild mallard drake out on the pond with my call hens yesterday, couldn't get a picture of him because he hides as soon as he sees a person, he's in summer molt and can't fly. Looks like these white call hens might hatch some babies with a wild mallard daddy. Will be interesting to see what colors they come in. These hens are proven to have bibbed and pied recessive genes, so could get some bibbed and pied mallards. :D

I know what you mean. We're at 35 right now, and I have to get them posted for sale. We still have a few in the incubator, and our girls are still laying off and on. We had an incubator disaster while you were away and lost most of what we had in there.

I'd love to see pics of them and little Skylar of course. Are you able to cuddle her?
