Mine already do some tricks. They will eat peas and greens on demand, dive underwater when they're in a pool or pond, and fly when I chase them yelling, "Fly, fly you silly birds!"
HAHAHAHA, that's funny

Here 's my Holderread's most expensive drake, he was purchased as show quality, paid $100.00 for him, most i ever paid for a duck in my life. (paid $60 for the breeder quality gray hen) he is such a fiesty fellow for being so tiny, he mates everything, the hens and the drakes, he's just a horrible little fellow. For being extraordinarily small and tiny, he is also extraordinarily strong and hardy, he's a little terrorist. Thinking about penning him with the Holderread's gray hen, they are so similiar in conformation.
lacrystol hows that little call duck with the split beak?
Oh poor thing...I'm so sorry, Lacry. You did all you could. :/ At least she's not suffering anymore.
You can still show him since wing clipping isn't permanent, but of course you'd have to wait until he molts again and has his full wing feathers back. Are they still doing shows where you live? Most of what was scheduled in this entire area, not just PA, was cancelled this year because of AI concerns.Whoa, he's the spitting image of Wobbles! His bill is exactly 1 inch, maybe a millimeter over, but the cutoff is 1 1/4 inch for SQ birds so I'm happy with it. Too bad I can't show Wobs though, since his wings are clipped it's an automatic disqualification. But maybe his babies could be...HMMMMMMMMM.
He's also a little terror. They're like the ultimate in napoleon's complex, aren't they? So tiny, but so stubborn, mean and hedonistic!
Well I lost her, She was acting really distance from the others, remember she had slipped tendon. Well something got the best of her.. She got to the point where she couldn't walk at all anymore, couldn't swim, couldn't get to food or water. So I brought her in, made things very accessible to her. BUT of course, the first thing we did was take a bath. LOL.. Two days went by and she was starting to show signs of life again. Looking really good, very alert, talking to me and I was so happy because she was pulling through getting lots of attention, her vegetables etc..
the third day, she was in the corner of the cage and not moving. I touched her because she wasn't doing her morning talking and she was stiff. I was like WHAT? are your kidding me? I Don't understand..
One thing about ducks is they can hide pain, sickness very well but seeing all the improvements she was making it was a Horrible shocker.. So sometime during the night she just passed away. Your guess is as good as mine because she didn't drown, she didn't act sick, nothing. I put some baby chicks in with her so she had some company and again she was doing GREAT but that third day, she was gone.
Here's the last pic I have of her, this was day 2 the day before passed away..
